Claes de Vreese and Hajo Boomgaarden have guest-edited a symposium in West European Politics, entitled Religion and the European Union. The symposium is a result of the NORFACE funded program on Religion, Media and Euroskepticism. In addition to the editors’ Introduction to the topic, the symposium includes four research articles that approach the relationship between religion and the EU from different perspective. The articles deal with (1) churches’ and parties’ EU politics, (2) politics of Islam in the EU, and with (3) religion and public opinion towards the EU and (4) voting in EU elections. Contributors to the symposium are Michael Minkenberg (NYU), Sara Hobolt (University of Oxford), Sara Silvestri (City University London), Andre Freire (Lisbon University), Claes de Vreese, Hajo Boomgaarden and Wouter van der Brug (UvA).
