Seminar on framing research

On January 26 I am giving a key note lecture as part of a one-day seminar on “Bridging micro and macro: New developments in framing research” at Aarhus University. Other speakers include Frank Baumgartner, Jamie Druckman, Regula Hanggli, Rune Slothuus, Lene Aaroe and Camilla Jensen.

ICA conference underway

The International Communication Association’s annual conference to be held in Phoenix, Arizona in May 2012 is currently being planned. The Political Communication division’s program (which I am putting together this year) is looking exciting with plenty of sessions on online political communication and campaign research. The program will be released in January 2012.

The EU in the media

Annual meeting Danish Political Science Association

On November 3 and 4, the annual meetings are held of the Danish Political Science Association. I am presenting a paper on campaign effects on euroskeptic voting, written with Joost van Spanje, on the basis of the VICI project Communication and the Future of EUrope.

Roundtable on the media and the 2012 Danish EU presidency

On Friday September 30 I am speaking at the European Community Studies Association’s meeting in a Roundtable on the media and the upcoming 2012 EU presidency in Denmark. WAPOR conference Amsterdam biggest ever

The annual WAPOR conference held in Amsterdam between September 21-23 was the largest ever in the history of WAPOR. The conference was a big success and papers from all across the globe were presented. The new IJPOR team started its work: Claes de Vreese is Editor-in-Chief and Yariv Tsfati, Kate Kenski, and Mike Elasmar are the Editors. We look forward to working together on the journal.

WAPOR conference in Amsterdam

I am a co-organizer of the conference with Professor Peter Neijens. The conference marks the end of the Peter’s term as Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Public Opinion Research. I am the incoming Editor in Chief.

Danish elections

The Danish elections (15/9) will lead to a change in Danish politics. The minority right wing government with support from the Danish People’s Party will be replaced by a center-left government, headed by Social Democrat Helle Thorning Schmidt.
